Job summary

Children’s National Hospital is seeking a Senior Patient Access Representative to provide patient services and administrative support in ancillary operations. The role includes complex scheduling, registration, and mentoring responsibilities within a fast-paced hospital environment.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of related experience and a High School Diploma or GED, with strong Microsoft Office and typing skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Broad knowledge of administrative processes and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in scheduling routine and complex exams and registrations.
• Verify demographic and insurance information for accuracy.
• Complete bedside and in-person registrations with courtesy and efficiency.
• Collect co-pays and payments; support departmental cash handling.
• Ensure insurance eligibility and pre-authorizations are obtained as required.
• Provide mentoring and training to PAR staff as needed.
• Answer phones, manage emails, and maintain office files and space.
