Job summary

WSP is seeking an Experienced P&C Field Services Technician to perform testing and commissioning at high voltage substations across multiple western states. You will utilize Omicron/Doble test equipment, follow IEEE, NETA, NFPA standards, and mentor junior technicians on safety and best practices.

The role requires 7+ years in electrical testing, strong relay knowledge, and willingness to travel up to 80%. Expect rigorous field work, precise data documentation, and collaboration with field teams

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the electrical testing industry.
• Experience with medium and high voltage circuit breakers, transformers, and substation testing.
• Demonstrable knowledge of protective relays and testing methods.
• Proficiency with relay calibration and testing equipment.
• Familiarity with NETA, IEEE, and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• On-site testing using relay test sets and review of test results.
• Document site activities using field forms and digital tools.
• Support project leads and mentors for junior technicians.
• Maintain logs, photos, and logs with attention to accuracy and safety.
