Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced P&C Field Services Technician to perform testing and energization activities on high voltage substations and related facilities. You will work with field teams across multiple states, applying IEEE, NETA, NFPA standards and using Omicron, Doble, and related testing tools.

You will document field results, assist in mentoring junior technicians, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while traveling up to 80% as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years in electrical testing, including medium/high voltage breakers and substations.
• Experience with transmission, generation, distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Proficiency with protective relay testing and calibration using test sets.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• Conduct on-site relay testing using Omicron and Doble equipment; document results.
• Document site activities with field forms and digital tools.
• Support project leadership and escalate complex field issues as needed.
• Maintain logs, drawings, and photos; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
