Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Experienced P&C Field Services Technician in Missouri or Indiana. You will perform high voltage protection and control testing at substations, using Omicron and Doble equipment, and document data with field forms and apps.

Travel up to 80% and mentoring junior technicians are expected. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in electrical testing, familiarity with IEEE/NETA/NFPA standards, and the ability to read electrical drawings.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical testing.
Experience with high voltage substations (15 kV–500 kV).
Proficient in protective relays testing with Omicron/Doble equipment.
Ability to travel up to 80%.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
Experience with NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards.
Knowledge of testing electrical distribution, generation, and transmission projects.

Responsibilities

Perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on HV substations.
On-site relay testing using test sets; document results.
Maintain field logs, sketches, and digital reports.
Support project leads; escalate complex issues as needed.
Ensure safety and regulatory compliance on site; participate in daily safety briefings.
Collaborate with field teams to maintain quality and timelines.
Assist in monitoring subcontractor performance and field activities.
Handle clerical duties such as timecards and project reports.
