Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Field Services Technician for locations across the Western/Northwest region, including Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. You will perform protection and control testing on high voltage substations, using Omicron and Doble test equipment, and document results in digital logs.

You will support field teams on projects, mentor junior techs, and ensure strict safety and quality standards while traveling up to 80% and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical testing, including HV equipment.
• Experience with transmission, generation, and distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Experience using relay test sets and calibration equipment (Omicron/Doble).
• Familiarity with IEEE, NETA, NFPA standards and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and document field activities accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• Conduct on-site relay testing using Omicron and Doble test sets; document results.
• Use field forms and mobile apps to log activities and maintain data integrity.
• Support field teams, mentor junior technicians, and escalate complex issues.
• Ensure safety compliance and coordination with project leadership; assist with reports.
