Job summary

WSP USA seeks an Experienced PTE Field Services Technician in Missouri or Indiana for electrical testing and commissioning in substations and power systems. You will perform protection and control testing on HV equipment, using relay test sets and field data tools to ensure safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Your role includes hands-on relay testing, data documentation, and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years in electrical testing, including HV equipment.
• Expertise with transmission, generation, and distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Proficiency with relay calibration and testing using Omicron/Doble equipment.
• Knowledge of NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards and field safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on HV substations.
• Conduct on-site relay testing with Omicron/Doble test sets.
• Capture data using field forms, mobile apps, and logs.
• Assist Project Lead/Field Supervisor and mentor junior technicians.
• Maintain logs, sketches, and digital reports; ensure safety and quality.
• Travel up to 80% as needed and support field teams.
