Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Experienced P&C Field Services Technician based in Wisconsin or Minnesota. You will perform protection and control relay testing on high voltage substations and support field teams across project sites.

Responsibilities include on-site testing with Omicron and Doble equipment, data capture, logs, and safety compliance, with travel up to 80%. A strong background in IEEE, NETA, NFPA standards and protective relays is required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; 7+ years in electrical testing including HV equipment.
• Broad knowledge of relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE families) and protective schemes; field testing standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Experience with relay calibration using Omicron/Doble test sets; on-site data capture and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform protection and control testing on HV substations (15 kV–500 kV).
• Conduct on-site relay testing with Omicron/Doble test sets and document results.
• Maintain logs, field sketches and digital reports; assist field lead and mentor junior techs.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance; communicate progress and delays to project team.
