Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Experienced P&C Field Services Technician for multiple Western U.S. locations. You will perform testing, commissioning, and documentation for protection and control systems in high‑voltage substations and industrial power systems.

Role requires hands-on relay testing, calibration, and data review using specialized test equipment. Travel up to 80% and collaboration with field teams are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years in electrical testing, incl. HV/MV breakers, transformers, relays.
• Experience with transmission, generation, and distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Knowledge of testing standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Ability to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning for Protection and Control systems on HV substations.
• Conduct on-site protective relay testing using test sets (Omicron, Doble).
• Document site activities with field forms and mobile apps.
• Support project lead and field supervisor; escalate complex issues.
• Maintain logs, photos, and logs with attention to detail.
