Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization Lead P&C Technician Field Services based in Wisconsin or Minnesota. You will lead field operations, perform protection and control testing on high voltage substations, and mentor technicians while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work with engineers and subcontractors, use Omicron and Doble test equipment, document results, and coordinate with clients to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 11+ years in electrical testing, including medium/high voltage equipment.
• Experience with transmission/generation/substation protection and controls testing.
• Advanced skills with protective relays and relay calibration.
• Familiarity with testing standards like IEEE, NFPA, NETA.
• Proficiency with field data documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex electrical testing projects and mentor technicians.
• Perform protection and control testing on HV substations using specialized test sets.
• Coordinate with engineers and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on site.
• Document test results and integrate data with project systems.
• Provide technical guidance and support during incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
