Job summary

UC Irvine Health seeks a Surgical Tech to assist with direct patient care in the Operating Room, prep and stock the OR, and maintain sterile technique. The role requires two years of surgical technologist experience, or progression to Sr. Surgical Tech, with an accredited course and BLS.

Flexibility to float to all UCI Health locations, and involvement in orientation and departmental committees, are expected. Evening work and variable shifts are included.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Must float to all UCI Health locations as needed.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery; gather clean and sterile supplies.
• Set sterile instrument fields and maintain aseptic technique.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and participate on departmental committees.
