Job summary

Amazon in Shreveport is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead a large Fulfillment Center team, drive operational excellence, and develop leadership across inbound and outbound operations with a strong focus on Lean processes.

The role partners with HR, Finance, Facilities and IT to secure resources, coach Operations and Area Managers, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time performance in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
• Work flexible hours including overnight, weekends and holidays.
• 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality and Lean initiatives to meet/exceed business plans.
• Oversee safety, quality, and customer experience for inbound or outbound operations.
• Set and clarify requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance.
• Leverage managers by sourcing ideas and creating improvement plans.
• Share best practices across departments, shifts, and network.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other senior managers for resources.
