Job summary

Amazon in Richmond, TX seeks a Sr. Operations Manager to lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, driving performance and development across inbound/outbound functions.

The role balances operational excellence with leadership growth and strong employee relations. You will guide Lean projects, set clear expectations, measure outcomes, and share best practices across shifts and departments while coordinating with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, and IT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
• Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
• 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
• Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.

Responsibilities

• Leads quality initiatives and process optimization, including Lean, to boost efficiency.
• Oversees performance of Inbound or Outbound operations, including safety and customer experience.
• Sets and clarifies requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance.
• Leverages managers by sourcing ideas and building improvement plans.
• Promotes best practices across departments, shifts, and network.
• Collaborates with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Ops Managers for resources.
