Job summary

Maritz is seeking an Operations Manager for onsite events in Mountain View to direct the events team, plan client meetings, and ensure service levels. You will lead meetings, train staff, and act as SME to maintain consistency and growth opportunities across the team.

You will manage client relationships, budgets, and SOPs, while coordinating with Catering, Facilities, AV, and other partners. This full-time role requires 5+ years in event planning and a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in meeting/event planning or hotel catering/convention sales.
• Strong knowledge of event program management and budget maintenance.
• Proven ability to lead teams and projects, including coaching and developing direct reports.
• Experience building and maintaining client relationships while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proficiency in G Suite and ability to learn new technology quickly.

Responsibilities

• Direct and support assigned team members in sourcing, planning, and executing client meetings and events.
• Lead team meetings to review productivity, deliverables, and service levels while promoting best practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to ensure consistency and training across the team.
• Manage relationships with service partners to ensure alignment and quality.
• Oversee implementation of SOPs, process improvements, and metric tracking for assigned teams.
• Manage special projects and provide backup support for the Director of Operations as needed.
