Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Lead Superintendent to independently manage field operations on a high‑value project in Arlington, VA. You will oversee day‑to‑day coordination of trade contractors, develop work plans, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence while liaising with the project team and client.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management, 7–12 years of leadership on large commercial/industrial builds, OSHA 30, STS‑C, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• OSHA 30‑hour certification or equivalent required.
• STS‑C certification or equivalent advantageous.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs day‑to‑day coordination of trade contractors and sub‑contractors to meet schedule and quality targets.
• Develops, documents, and communicates work plans for field changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate issues.
• Ensures permits are obtained for construction activities.
• Leads safety program and enforces safety compliance on site.
• Runs contractor meetings and maintains daily reports and schedules.
• Plans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logistics.
• Develops QIC plan with Operations Excellence and implements changes.
• Manages stretch/flex and pre‑task plan reviews.
• Collaborates with business development to align project goals with client needs.
