Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Lead Superintendent to independently supervise a group of trade contractors on projects valued up to $30M. This on-site role requires relentless attention to safety, schedule adherence, and quality, as you guide teams through complex construct ion activities in Boston.

You will manage day-to-day field operations, coordinate with owners, trade contractors, and subs, and drive project success while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
• 4–12 years of experience on $15–$30M projects in a superintendent role
• OSHA 30-hour certified and STS-C certification
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed training required

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade partners and subs to ensure quality work and schedule adherence
• Develops and communicates field work plans and changes
• Maintains contract document understanding to anticipate problems
• Leads contractor meetings and safety initiatives
• Maintains daily reports and project schedules
• Mentors junior field engineers and supports buyout and T&M tracking
