Coaction is seeking a Senior Claims Examiner to handle first and third-party Ocean Marine and Energy claims with a focus on coverage interpretation, investigation, and settlement. The role requires desk-level investigations, accurate reserve-setting, and coordination with experts and counsel in a hybrid schedule from our Morristown, NJ office.

Candidates should have 4+ years of general liability claims handling, be willing to obtain licenses in required states, and be able to travel

Qualifications

• 4+ years of claims handling experience, primarily general liability.
• Must be willing to obtain adjuster licenses in all required states.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Handle first and third-party Ocean Marine and Energy claims.
• Desk-handle investigations, estimate exposures, and manage documentation.
• Engage experts, set appropriate reserves within authority, and settle claims.
• Prepare coverage letters and maintain claim files with detailed documentation.
• Coordinate with defense counsel, investigators, and surveyors as needed.
• Maintain licenses in required states and participate in mediations or trials as needed.
