UNC Health is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to maintain accurate scheduling databases and collaborate across departments to ensure precise and complete scheduled procedures. The role involves scheduling patient procedures and pre-registering patients when possible.

The position requires two years of customer service or admin experience, preferably in healthcare, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service or admin experience required.
• Prefer experience in healthcare setting with exposure to patient registration, scheduling, or insurance authorization processes.
• Medical terminology is desirable.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Maintains accurate and complete scheduling database and coordinates with Radiology schedules.
• Pre-registers patients when possible and appropriate.
• Obtains demographic information and enters it into Rex information systems; completes required forms such as consent and financial waivers.
• Monitors insurance websites and verifies current policies for authorization requirements; communicates findings to scheduling staff.
• Maintains ABN pre-authorization queue and reviews Medicare Part B studies for appropriateness; coordinates with physicians for additional authorization as needed.
