UNC Health in North Carolina is seeking a patient access and scheduling professional to ensure accurate registration and scheduling of procedures. You will verify demographics, collect prior records, and communicate prep details to patients and providers.

The role includes handling registrations for Managed Care and Government Payors, maintaining up-to-date scheduling information, and serving as a receptionist when needed. Onsite, full-time, 40 hours weekly; salary range applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one year of related experience or training preferred.
• Medical terminology is desirable and helpful in daily tasks.
• Exceptional customer service and strong organizational skills are essential.
• Experience in a healthcare setting with patient registration or scheduling is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Works collaboratively to ensure accuracy and completeness of scheduled procedures.
• Accurately communicates procedure and prep information to patient and physician office staff.
• Obtains accurate and valid physician orders for all procedures.
• Consistently achieves productivity and customer satisfaction goals.
• Distributes updated department schedules in a timely manner with complete clinical information.
• Maintains current knowledge of diagnostic procedures and scheduling software.
• Serves as departmental receptionist and office assistant as needed.
• Performs registrations for patients including contract registrations for Managed Care and government payors.
