Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer in structural engineering to guide a team on nuclear facility projects, coordinate with other disciplines, and interact directly with clients.

You will apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and oversee design calculations, specifications, and drawings. The role may require travel for reviews and field verification at plant sites.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE in Structural Engineering.
• 12+ years in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of structural engineers on nuclear facility projects.
• Interface with engineers from other disciplines and with clients.
• Prepare, review, and guide design calculations, specifications, and drawings.
• Travel to client/vendor offices or plant locations as needed for reviews and field verification.
