Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer for nuclear power plant systems design. You will lead teams on modification packages, detailed plant drawings, and procurement documents, interfacing with clients at site locations.

The role emphasizes data-driven workflows, automation, and AI-enabled engineering while delivering cost-effective, compliant designs. A BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with ABET accreditation and 10+ years in power is expected; PE

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical engineering design of nuclear plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design or review modification packages for nuclear power plants.
• Create functional mechanical drawings and drawings for plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study options and modifications to operating plants.
