Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, a leading nuclear power engineering firm, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze plant systems, support modifications, and produce detailed drawings and specifications. The role includes leading projects, interfacing with clients, and guiding engineering teams on-site.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in power engineering, strong regulatory knowledge, and experience with uprates or turbine systems; PE is a plus.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree required.
Minimum 5 years of power industry experience.
Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design in nuclear plants.
Experience with power uprates or turbine systems is favorable.
PE license is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform analyses to support modifications and operation of plant systems (hydraulic, heat transfer, heat balance).
Prepare modification packages for operating nuclear plants.
Create/Review functional mechanical drawings for plant systems.
Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
Conduct vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment.
Lead engineering project teams and interface with clients on site.
