Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group seeks a senior mechanical engineer to analyze, design, and license mechanical and nuclear system components for nuclear power plants. You will work on modification packages, performance specs, and drawings for plant systems.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited BS or MS in mechanical or chemical engineering with at least five years in the power industry and a strong grasp of codes and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear power plant mechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Develop system and component performance specifications.
• Create functional mechanical drawings and drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Perform analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications and operations.
• Draft technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate options for modifications to operating plants.
