Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced engineer to design and review nuclear power plant systems, including modification packages and drawings. You will perform engineering analyses and prepare procurement documents while leading project teams and interfacing with clients at sites or offices.

Essential qualifications include an ABET‑accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree, 7+ years in the power sector, and working knowledge of relevant codes and standards.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 7+ years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of Nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate options for modifications to operating reactors.
