Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to design and review nuclear power plant systems. You will prepare modification packages, drawings, specs, and procurement documents, while evaluating options and performing vendor bid assessments.

The role includes leading project teams, interfacing with clients onsite or at client offices, and developing cost estimates for diverse scopes of work. PE is a plus but not required; ABET-accredited degree required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A minimum of 10 years of applicable experience.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings and drawings for plant systems.
• Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Perform vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate options for modifications to operating nuclear plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
• Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and present engineering tasks and status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
