Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced mechanical/chemical engineer for nuclear power plant systems design in the United States. You will work on modification packages, drawings, analyses, and procurement documents, and you will lead project teams to deliver cost‑effective designs.

You will also develop engineering cost estimates, interact with clients at sites and offices, and contribute to engineering workflows with modern tools and data‑driven approaches.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards and regulations for nuclear plant mechanical design.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify and review design packages for operating nuclear plants.
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings and equipment specs.
• Perform engineering analyses to support plant modifications and operation.
• Develop vendor bid evaluations and procurement documents.
• Lead engineering project teams and interface with clients on status and presentations.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for client scopes; visit client sites as needed.
