Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior mechanical/chemical engineer to design and review nuclear power plant systems, including modification packages, drawings, analyses, specifications, and vendor evaluations. The role also involves leading project teams and client interfaces.

The position is hybrid, requiring in‑office work three days per week. A ABET‑accredited degree and 7+ years in power are expected; PE is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• 7+ years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear plant mechanical design.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants and review related drawings.
• Prepare and evaluate functional mechanical drawings and system drawings.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations for plant modifications.
• Draft/review technical specs and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids and options for plant equipment.
• Lead modification studies and options analyses for operating plants.
• Develop cost estimates for client‑requested work scopes.
• Interface with clients at office or site locations and present engineering status.
