Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, including creating and reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, and procurement documents. The role involves evaluating vendor bids and studying modification options for operating plants.

The candidate will lead engineering project teams and may visit client sites or offices as needed. A strong background in nuclear engineering and regulatory knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, or General Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Develop technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate options for modifications to operating nuclear plants.
• Lead engineering project teams.
