Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group is seeking an experienced engineer to contribute to design, modification packages, and evaluations for operating nuclear power plants in the United States. In this role you will develop or review functional mechanical drawings, analyses, and procurement documents to support plant reliability and safety.

The position emphasizes collaboration with clients, cost estimation, presentations at client sites, and leading engineering project teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program with coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfers
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in the nuclear power industry
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design in nuclear power plants
• PE license is beneficial, but not required

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants
• Develop functional mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems
• Perform engineering analyses to support modifications and operation of plant systems
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment
• Study options and evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear plants
