Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experiencedMechanical Engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design and modification projects in the United States. The role involves preparing and reviewing designs, specifications, and procurement documents, and evaluating vendor bids.

You will collaborate with project teams, interface with clients, and potentially lead project efforts to ensure high-quality engineering outcomes and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Review functional/mechanical drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and plant operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate modification options for operating nuclear power plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
• Interface with clients at offices/sites and present engineering tasks and status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
