Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, including development and review of modification packages and drawings. You will perform analyses and prepare specifications to support plant modifications, interfacing with clients and vendors as needed.

The role emphasizes leadership of engineering teams, cost estimation, and ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards in a hybrid work setting with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, or General Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 10 or more years of experience in the power industry
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants
• PE license is beneficial, but not required

Responsibilities

• Modify operating nuclear power plant modification packages
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems
• Conduct engineering analyses to support plant modifications and operation
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment
• Study options for modifications to operating nuclear plants
• Visit client offices/sites to interface and present tasks/status
• Lead engineering project teams
