Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group. This role supports projects digitizing nuclear power plants, including SMR work, with a hybrid schedule that blends office and remote work.

You will collaborate on sensor systems, controllers, displays, pumps, valves, and turbines to enhance plant performance. You will prepare specifications, engineering calculations, and design inputs, while mentoring junior engineers and traveling for reviews and

Qualifications

BS or MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Strong academic background with coursework in analog and digital control systems.
Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience or an MS degree.

Responsibilities

Work on multi-discipline engineering teams for nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls projects.
Engage with sensors, digital controllers, displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, turbines and reactors to improve plant functionality.
Prepare functional requirements and procurement specs for I&C equipment.
Create I&C engineering calculations and design input documents (cable block diagrams, schematics).
Mentor less experienced I&C design engineers and provide technical guidance.
