Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior design engineer in Nuclear Instrument and Controls, based in a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days a week. You will interface with project teams and clients to ensure all requirements are satisfied, leading design efforts for PLC, DCS, instrumentation, and digital systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in process control design engineering, an ABET-accredited engineering degree, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in design engineering for process control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.

Responsibilities

• Interface with discipline engineers, designers, and the client to ensure requirements are met.
• Work on major process controls projects including PLC, DCS, and instrumentation.
• Prepare documentation for design input, drawings, and procurement specifications.
• Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specifications.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
• Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to ensure client satisfaction.
• Mentor less experienced nuclear instrumentation and controls design engineers.
