Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a nuclear Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to contribute to major I&C design projects within the Nuclear Power Group. The role involves engaging with discipline engineers and the client to ensure all requirements are satisfied and aligned with project goals.

You will interface with clients and vendors, prepare design inputs and schematics, and help advance digital control systems for both existing plants and new build projects, while mentoring junior engineers

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program with a strong academic background and coursework in analog and digital control systems, systems engineering, mechatronics, or robotics is required
• 3 or more years of experience in design engineering for process control systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others

Responsibilities

• Interface with discipline engineers and the client to ensure all requirements are met
• Develop and review instrumentation and control system designs
• Prepare design input documentation and schematics
• Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specifications
• Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly for client requirements
• Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to ensure client satisfaction
• Provide mentorship to less experienced nuclear instrumentation and controls design engineers
