Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced I&C Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in a hybrid role. You will design, modify and analyze instrumentation and control systems for both new builds and plant modernization projects, including digital and analog controls.

You will contribute to project teams, review design documentation, and prepare calculations while interfacing with vendors and clients to ensure quality and schedule. A PE is preferred for progression.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Five or more years of experience in I&C design engineering.
• Experience with selecting equipment, control philosophy, and design packages.
• Experience with controls system design for turbines, pumps, feedwater controls, and data displays.
• Experience serving as a client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
• Experience in reviewing design documentation.
• PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a project team to design, modify, and analyze instrumentation and control systems for new and existing nuclear power plants.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide range of electrical controls engineering issues.
• Prepare and review calculations for digital and analog controls applications.
• Interface with vendors for document reviews and equipment purchase specs.
• Provide reports and studies presenting technical information clearly to meet client requirements.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and guide project teams.
• Support project managers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
