Sargent & Lundy seeks a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for our Nuclear Power Group in Knoxville. This hybrid role combines on-site collaboration with remote work two days per week, enabling you to contribute to major digital upgrades and complex I&C projects in a safety-critical environment.

You will lead design efforts, review drawings, interface with clients and vendors, and guide junior engineers in a multi-disciplinary team focused on reliability, safety, and performance of

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 20+ years of experience in the design engineering of instrumentation and controls engineering systems in a project team environment for heavy industrial plants
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role is desirable
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high level, complex programs for nuclear power projects
• Lead technical decision making in a project team environment
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve instrumentation & controls issues
• Coordinate design activities to ensure compliance with specs and codes
• Perform Digital Systems Design Development – PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked systems
• Prepare and review calculation documentation for analog and digital controls
• Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specs
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope and satisfaction
