Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in a project team environment. You will design, modify, and analyze electrical systems for existing nuclear plants, performing calculations and preparing change packages while coordinating with Mechanical, Structural, I&C teams and the client.

Essential skills include ABET‑accredited education, 7+ years in nuclear/industrial electrical design, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer with an ABET‑accredited degree and 7+ years in power/industrial electrical design.
• Strong written and verbal communication to coordinate with multi‑discipline teams and clients.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget.
• Capable of obtaining nuclear facility badge for unescorted access.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design change packages for upgrading plant equipment to ensure long‑term reliability.
• Perform engineering calculations including AC/DC power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, and breaker coordination.
• Interface with clients, vendors and project teammates across disciplines to validate scope.
• Support site installations, coordinate with field teams, and assist the project manager to meet deadlines and budget.
