Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, including modification packages and technical specifications. The role involves reviewing drawings, performing analyses, and evaluating vendor bids while interfacing with clients on site as needed.

A hybrid schedule requires in-office work three days per week. Candidates should have an ABET-accredited engineering degree and 7+ years in the power industry, with knowledge of nuclear mechanical design

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 7+ years in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear plant mechanical design.
• PE license is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Develop technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment.
• Studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
• Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and make presentations.
• Lead engineering project teams.
