Job summary

BDO USA seeks a Manager in the Industry Specialty Services Group to support nonprofit clients with financial management, governance, and compliance. The role blends consulting and hands-on accounting leadership to help organizations scale impact locally and virtually.

You will guide month-end processes, budgeting, and reporting, while coaching staff and partners. Travel up to 20% may be required; CPA preferred but not required for entry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required
• MBA or MPA preferred
• Seven (7) or more years of nonprofit accounting experience required
• Experience with nonprofit accounting principles required
• Supervisory/management experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide senior level financial management services to nonprofits undergoing organizational or leadership change
• Oversee month-end close, audit support, budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial system implementation
• Present analysis and findings to boards and senior leadership with clear financial communication
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit reporting standards and regulatory changes
• Assess fiscal and operational infrastructure for sustainability and growth
• Oversee grant compliance, budgeting, accounting and reporting
• Recommend process improvements and keep up with regulations
