Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Manager in the Industry Specialty Services Group to deliver nonprofit accounting and financial management services to mission-driven organizations and their funders. This role combines advisory leadership with hands-on execution across clients locally and virtually.

You will oversee engagements, guide staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and help nonprofit clients achieve operational excellence and sustainable impact in a rapidly changing funding landscape.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) or more years of demonstrated accounting experience with a specific focus on nonprofits, required.
• Experience with accounting systems and nonprofit accounting principles, required.
• Supervisory/management experience, required.
• CPA, preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide senior level financial management services to nonprofits undergoing organizational or leadership change.
• Oversee month-end close, audit support, budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial system implementation.
• Support leadership and Boards with complex financial analysis and reporting to diverse audiences.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit reporting standards and governance requirements.
• Conduct infrastructure assessments and advise on financial sustainability and controls.
• Oversee grant compliance including billing, budgeting, and reporting to funders.
