Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Manager in the Industry Specialty Services Group to deliver professional nonprofit financial services for organizations and funders, locally and virtually.

This role helps nonprofits build operational capacity, achieve financial sustainability, and align services with client needs, with a collaborative, client-focused approach.

You will supervise consultants, lead engagements, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, required.
• MBA or MPA, preferred.
• Seven (7) or more years of demonstrated accounting experience with a specific focus on nonprofits, required.
• Experience with accounting systems and nonprofit accounting principles, required.
• Supervisory/management experience, required.
• CPA, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior level financial management services to nonprofits during organizational change.
• Oversee month-end close, audit support, budgeting, cash flow, and financial system implementation.
• Present financial analysis to boards and leadership with clear communication.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial reporting standards.
• Mentor and supervise consultants on engagements.
• Manage client relationships and lead training.
• Contribute to business development and proposal development.
• Oversee grant compliance including budgeting and reporting.
