Job summary

Deephaven Mortgage LLC seeks a Senior Underwriter to evaluate complex mortgage loan applications outside QM guidelines. You will assess borrower risk using alternative documentation and ensure investor compliance, impacting loan approvals.

You will manually underwrite transactions for Correspondent and Wholesale clients, perform vendor QA, and collaborate across teams to clear conditions and ensure quality.

Qualifications

• Recent, hands-on Non-QM underwriting experience required.
• Experience underwriting HELOCs and 2nd mortgages strongly preferred.
• Ability to manually calculate income across all Non-QM programs and complex self-employed profiles.
• Proficiency in Encompass with navigating workflows and clearing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manually underwrite mortgage loan transactions for Correspondent and Wholesale lending to guidelines.
• Perform quality control audits of third-party vendor loans for compliance with guidelines.
• Review loan scenarios and communicate purchase/funding eligibility to clients.
• Collaborate with internal staff and third-party vendors to clear eligibility conditions.
• Assist processing staff to clear loan conditions and respond to credit questions.
