Job summary

June Point Lending is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to be a foundational member of the credit team, underwriting Non-QM loans and shaping underwriting automation. You will assess complex credit scenarios for self-employed borrowers, real estate investors, and other non-traditional income profiles.

You will work with our technology team to build workflows and test automations, serving as the first dedicated underwriter and helping scale processes while balancing risk and speed in a lean

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience including conventional and Non-QM products.
• Experience with self-employed borrowers, investment properties, or complex income.
• Wholesale lending experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Non-QM residential mortgage loans (DSCR, bank statement, P&L) focusing on credit quality, collateral risk, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain rigorous credit standards with collateral analysis, fraud detection, and portfolio risk.
• Collaborate with account executives, brokers, and operations to provide timely credit decisions and service.
