Job summary

World Business Lenders is seeking a Senior Credit Underwriter to lead complex non-QM mortgage underwriting and guide a team of underwriters. You will evaluate multifaceted borrower scenarios, structure credit solutions, and support sound lending decisions that balance risk and growth.

This remote role reports to the Chief Lending Officer and emphasizes process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive underwriting experience in non-QM residential mortgage lending.
Proven expertise in credit analysis, risk assessment, and loan structuring for complex borrower scenarios.
Strong knowledge of Non-QM loan products (DSCR, Bank Statement, Asset Depletion, Foreign National, ITIN).
Experience interpreting credit policies, guidelines, and applicable mortgage regulations (ATR/QM, TRID, RESPA, TILA).

Responsibilities

Act as trusted advisor to Chief Lending Officer and lead complex underwriting activities.
Oversee underwriting teams, mentor junior underwriters, and improve processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally to improve credit quality, efficiency, and funded loan volume.
Document underwriting decision logic to support automation efforts.
Develop underwriting guidelines and SOPs; monitor denials and adjust policies.
