Job summary

Jet HomeLoans, LP seeks a Non-QM Underwriter to assess complex mortgage cases, including bank-statement and alternative income loans. You will ensure loan salability and adherence to investor and insurer guidelines while staying current on program changes and regulatory requirements.

You will analyze income/assets, navigate loan docs, and collaborate with sales, processing, underwriting, and compliance teams to maintain timely closings and strong QA metrics.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on Non-QM mortgage underwriting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Non-QM investor guidelines, bank-statement programs and alternative income documentation.
• Experience evaluating complex borrower scenarios and making independent underwriting decisions within established guidelines and approval authority.
• Deep knowledge of federal and state laws (TRID, TILA, ECOA, HMDA).
• Able to navigate loan origination software and related technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret loan documents and definitions accurately.
• Ability to solve problems and meet deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Non-QM loans, including bank-statement and alternative income documentation.
• Ensure loans approved are salable and comply with investor and insurer guidelines.
• Keep up-to-date with investor/insurer guidelines and program changes.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Analyze borrower income, assets, and credit/liabilities documentation.
• Compute income using traditional and alternative documentation.
• Ensure timely closings for the assigned pipeline.
• Meet Key Risk Indicator (KRI) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
• Review and resolve complex loan issues with cross-functional teams.
• Document and report QA/QC findings to Underwriting Leadership.
