Job summary

Deephaven Mortgage seeks an experienced non-QM Underwriter to evaluate loan applications outside traditional QM. You will assess borrower risk, ensure policy and investor guideline compliance, and participate in loan approvals.

The role is remote with nationwide eligibility and collaboration with wholesale and correspondent channels. Responsibilities include manual income calculations, reviewing complex documentation, and determining eligibility for purchases and funding while maintaining

Qualifications

• Hands-on non-QM underwriting experience.
• Ability to manually calculate income across non-QM programs.
• Experience with DSCR, bank statements, asset depletion, and multi-family properties.
• Proficiency in reviewing title commitments, appraisal reports, condo projects.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite mortgage loan transactions for Correspondent and Wholesale clients per guidelines.
• Perform QC audits of third-party vendor mortgage files.
• Review loan scenarios and communicate purchase/funding eligibility.
• Collaborate with underwriters, processors, closers and account managers to clear conditions.
• Analyze loan applications and assess borrower creditworthiness and risk.
• Evaluate property value, income potential, and rent rolls to ensure debt service coverage.
