Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Master Network & Security Engineer to lead enterprise network-security design, operation, and improvements. You will manage Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, and Cortex XSIAM, implement zero-trust policies, and oversee HA deployments across Cisco-based networks.

The role requires 10+ years in network security, advanced PAN-OS experience, and the ability to drive complex incidents with SOC collaboration, while mentoring junior staff in a fully remote US-based position.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in network engineering/security.
• 6+ years with Palo Alto firewalls in production.
• Advanced PAN-OS and Panorama experience.
• Strong HA design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• TCPI/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, and packet-level troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience with Cortex XSIAM, Strata Logging Service, and log ingestion.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise firewall and security infrastructure.
• Own centralized firewall management with PAN-OS and Panorama.
• Design and enforce zero-trust, least-privilege security policies.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAT, VPN, decryption, URL Filtering, and App-ID policies.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead major incident investigations.
