Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Network & Security Engineer to lead design, operation, troubleshooting, and improvement of enterprise network-security infrastructure. Focus areas include Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, Cisco switching, and Cortex XSIAM integration.

The role is fully remote within the United States and requires strong leadership to reduce risk and coordinate with SOC and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in network engineering or security operations.
• 5+ years hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience in a production enterprise environment.
• Advanced operational experience with Palo Alto Panorama administration.
• Strong HA design, troubleshooting, and configuration management.
• AOUSC Public Trust eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, administration, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Own Panorama management, templates, device groups, upgrades, and logging.
• Design security policies with zero-trust and least privilege principles.
• Configure NAT, VPNs, decryption, URL Filtering, and Threat Prevention.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Architect and troubleshoot HA deployments (Active/Passive/Active).
• Integrate Palo Alto with Strata Logging Service and Cortex XSIAM.
• Mentor engineers and lead incident response improvements.
