Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Senior Network & Security Engineer to lead enterprise network-security design, operation, and optimization. You will manage Palo Alto NGFWs (PAN-OS), Panorama, and Cisco switching while driving zero-trust policies and high-availability architectures.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with SOC and cloud teams, improve security telemetry, and guide incident response. This is a fully remote US-based opportunity with a focus on resiliency and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years (or commensurate experience).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, security, firewall administration, or security operations.
• 5+ years of hands-on Palo Alto Networks firewall experience in a production enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo AltoNGFW environments (PAN-OS).
• Own centralized firewall management via Palo Alto Panorama (device groups, templates, upgrades).
• Design and govern security policies using zero-trust and least-privilege principles.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAT, VPNs, decryption, URL Filtering, and App-ID policies.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives across zones and VLANs.
