Job summary

GovCIO seeks a highly experienced Master Network & Security Engineer to lead design, operation, and troubleshooting of enterprise network-security infrastructure. The role covers Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, Cisco switching, Cortex XSIAM, and Strata Logging Service.

The Senior Engineer will act as a technical escalation point, drive architecture initiatives, and partner with SOC and leadership teams to reduce risk while maintaining highly available services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 10+ years in network engineering/security/infra.
• 6+ years with Palo Alto firewalls in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Own centralized firewall management via Palo Alto Panorama.
• Design and govern security policies using zero-trust, least-privilege principles.
• Configure and troubleshoot security zones, NAT, VPNs, and App-ID policies.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
