Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Master Network & Security Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and operation of enterprise network-security infrastructure. You will own Palo Alto NGFW environments, Panorama, and high-availability configurations.

You will partner with SOC and infrastructure teams to reduce risk, implement zero-trust policies, and ensure highly available services for our government clients through remote work options.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity, IT, CS, or engineering.
• 10+ years in network engineering, security, or related operations.
• 6+ years Palo Alto firewall experience in production environments.
• Panorama experience with multi-device policy management and upgrades.
• Strong HA design, synchronization, and failover knowledge.
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, NAT, and packet-level troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience with Cortex XSIAM, Strata Logging Service, and cloud security tools.
• Public Trust clearance ability or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Own centralized firewall management via Palo Alto Panorama.
• Design security policies using zero-trust and least-privilege principles.
• Configure NAT, VPNs, App-ID, and decryption policies.
• Guide network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Architect and troubleshoot HA deployments (Active/Active, Active/Passive).
• Resolve complex HA failures and perform failover testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical reviews.
